UV-Vis Spectrophotometer

Our Agilent Cary 3500 UV-Vis spectrophotometer is equipped with a long-life Xenon flashlamp operating at 250 Hz. It offers a wavelength range of 190-1100 nm with a limiting resolution of 0.1 nm, and a beam dimension at the sample interface of <1.5 mm. The instrument delivers high-speed performance with a maximum scan rate of 15,000 nm/min and an acquisition speed of up to 250 data points per second.
The system can accommodate up to eight cuvettes, which can be measured simultaneously. Each cuvette solution can be independently stirred using magnetic stirrer bars controlled via software.
The built-in temperature control system allows for independent regulation of the temperature in the eight cuvettes within a range of 0-110 °C and with an accuracy of ±0.5 °C (improvable to ±0.25 °C with a temperature probe). The cell-to-cell temperature variation is ±0.15 °C. For low-temperature measurements, airflow of inert gas can be applied to prevent humidity condensation.
The detector is a silicon photodiode, ensuring precise and reliable measurements.
The instrument supports temperature ramps with a maximum rate of 40 °C/min and a minimum rate of 0.1 °C/min, enabling detailed thermal analysis. Blanks are automatically subtracted during measurements to ensure accuracy.
Kinetic experiments can be performed by acquiring full spectra at defined intervals or by monitoring absorbance at specific wavelengths. The system is highly versatile for applications requiring precise UV-Vis spectral data and temperature controlled conditions.
