Our GPC system is a OMNISEC RESOLVE/OMNISEC REVEAL instrument from Malvern Panalytical.
The OMNISEC RESOLVE system comprises an isocratic pump with continuous back seal washing that can operate between 0.005 – 10 mL/min of flowrate and with an accuracy of ±1%, a degasser with >90% degassing capacity, a column oven containing a Tosoh Bioscience PWXL guard-column, and two Tosoh Bioscience TSKgel GMPWXL (mixed bed for MW from 500 to 8 × 106 Da) or Malvern Viscotek A-columns (A6000M + A2500) size exclusion chromatography (SEC) columns connected in series.
The OMNISEC REVEAL comprises four detectors:
(1) Refractive index deflection detector operating at 640 nm and with a 12 µL reference cell
(2) Diode-array-based UV-Vis spectrophotometer working between 190-900 nm (accuracy <1 nm) and equipped with 7.5 µL cell with a 10 mm path length
(3) Light scattering detector comprising a Right Angle Light Scattering detector (RALS) positioned at 90° to the sample flow, and a Low Angle Light Scattering detector (LALS) positioned at 7° to the sample flow, the light source is a 640 nm laser (50 mW), the cell volume is 18 µL
(4) A capillary Wheatstone bridge viscosimeter with self-balancing mechanism and user-exchangeable capillaries.
Columns, detectors ovens, and autosampler are all thermostated. We have columns for both aqueous and organic (THF and DMF) analysis.
